ITC Green Centre is recognised as the world’s largest Platinum-rated green office building. Conceived to house the offices of ITC’s varied businesses, the project reflects the organisation’s long-standing commitment to environmentally responsible design.
RKA undertook the challenge of designing one of the most energy-efficient office buildings globally, which was subsequently certified under the LEED programme as a Platinum-rated green building. The 180,000 sq. ft. office building was designed and executed following extensive research into sustainable design strategies.
A robust stone base anchors the structure to the ground, referencing classical architectural traditions, while lightweight glass elements articulate transparency and technological progress.
Architecturally, the building expresses a modern classical vocabulary that balances permanence with innovation. This deliberate juxtaposition of weight and lightness breaks down the overall mass into smaller, human-scaled components and symbolically bridges past and future.
The façade is clad in red brick, accented by a white sandstone base sourced from Gwalior, lending material depth and contextual relevance.
Building orientation, envelope design, and daylight optimisation contribute significantly to energy performance and occupant comfort.
The project stands as a benchmark in sustainable corporate architecture, seamlessly integrating environmental responsibility with a refined and enduring architectural identity.
RKA is all about design excellence — it’s in our ethos. Be it rendering exceptional value through design and strategy to our clients or making every employee’s experience with RKA valuable and worthwhile.
