RKA provided architectural, structural, and MEP design services for the shopping mall and hotel development at Mohali, spread over a total built-up area of 591,000 sq. ft. The project comprises a shopping mall with a three-screen multiplex up to the third floor and a 150-key hotel extending up to the fourteenth floor. The shopping mall and multiplex account for a built-up area of 134,376 sq. ft., while the hotel occupies 113,844 sq. ft. The building also includes twin basement levels with a combined area of 343,380 sq. ft.
The architectural design integrates retail, entertainment, and hospitality functions within a compact urban footprint through clear vertical zoning and efficient circulation planning. Lower floors are activated by public-oriented retail and multiplex uses, while the hotel tower rises above, establishing a distinct skyline presence.
Careful massing and structural coordination allow seamless integration of diverse functions while maintaining functional independence.
Vertical circulation cores and service infrastructure are strategically placed to ensure smooth operational flow across all components.
Façade articulation and material treatment unify the development into a cohesive architectural identity despite its mixed-use nature.
The twin basement levels efficiently accommodate parking and services, freeing ground-level areas for public engagement.
Overall, the project balances density, functionality, and architectural clarity, positioning it as a prominent mixed-use destination within Mohali’s emerging urban landscape.
RKA is all about design excellence — it’s in our ethos. Be it rendering exceptional value through design and strategy to our clients or making every employee’s experience with RKA valuable and worthwhile.
