RKA was selected by Delhi Development Authority to prepare the master plan for the mixed-use development of one of its most prominent location in New Delhi; Vasant Kunj.

The prestigious project conceptualized & designed in 1993 includes the development of a 60 acre, 1.25 Km long stretch of land. RKA’s master plan creatively develops this  rocky terrain into a much required, vibrant, social and commercial hub for the heart of South Delhi.

A variety of interesting materials, massing,textures & colors is foreseen to give each part of the Vasant Kunj Mall project a unique identity.

At the heart of this urban project is a dramatic central public space, one of the most spectacular outdoor spaces in South Delhi. Connected to the space through skylit atriums & streets are the various shopping & office developments, expressed in disparate yet controlled architectural vocabulary.

The mixed use development includes the Grand Hyatt Hotel, corporate office buildings, large shopping facilities including indoor shopping malls, Entertainment Centres, food courts & residential apartments.

The design scheme was highly appreciated by the DDA & the Delhi Urban Arts Commission. The project guidelines and detailed Infrastructure planning were done in 1998 & services laid on site subsequently.
