RKA designed GMR’s new hotel at Terminal 3, IGI Airport, New Delhi. The state-of-the-art hotel had 350 rooms spread over 268,000 square feet on a plot area of 3.1 acres. As an airport terminal hotel, the property was designed to provide premium hospitality services to both international and domestic travelers utilizing Delhi’s primary aviation hub, delivering contemporary comfort and technological sophistication appropriate to elite business and leisure aviation travelers.
The project exemplifies premium airport hotel design where strategic location, sophisticated architecture, and state-of-the-art amenities converge to create distinctive travel experiences.
At 350 rooms across 268,000 square feet, the hotel operates at a scale optimal for comprehensive hospitality services including dining, wellness, meeting facilities, and business centers—essential amenities for modern airport hotels serving transit passengers and conference participants.
Contemporary airport hotel design emphasizes biophilic principles, soundproofing for acoustic comfort, technology integration, and flexible spaces that serve multiple functions from dining and work to relaxation and social gathering.
The direct terminal connectivity and premium positioning reflect strategic understanding that successful airport hotels must balance operational efficiency with experiential quality, creating gathering spaces that encourage guests to linger rather than merely transit, while maintaining the rapid turnover and service standards expected in high-volume airport hospitality environments.
RKA is all about design excellence — it’s in our ethos. Be it rendering exceptional value through design and strategy to our clients or making every employee’s experience with RKA valuable and worthwhile.
